The Duero-Douro EGTC renews its educational programs for the new school year

Performance at the second edition of transboundary theater festival Artistas del Duero

The technical team of Education & Youth department of the Duero-Douro EGTC is finalizing the preparation of all its programs to students for the recent start of the new school year.

Thanks to the good results they have shown in previous editions, Duero-Douro is renewing the programs Artistas del Duero, Escritores sin Fronteras and Conociéndonos.

The basis of participation and the registration form in each of the activities are already accessible through the web www.duero-douro.com

Artistas del Duero, the transboundary school theater festival, will start its third year



Visit to Freixo of students from Monleras and Villaseco thanks to the Cónociendonos program

with the performing arts as a tool of expression for students aged 3 to 16 years studying in schools in the territory of the Duero-Douro EGTC.

Students in first and second cycle may also participate in Conociéndonos, the school coexistence program that connects students from Portugal and Spain to enjoy a day in the neighboring country, knowing another language, another culture, and establishing links durable bonding time.

The Escritores Sin Fronteras program will begin for the second year in order to write and illustrate a book of tales by students.

Over 600 students participated in the 2010-2011 academic year

During the past school year, educational programs of the EGTC reached over 600 children and youth of the border.

From the Duero-Douro EGTC we want to thank the teachers of the schools in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Miranda do Douro, Vimioso, Mogadouro, Almaraz de Duero, Bermillo de Sayago, Alcañices, Vitigudino, Mahíde, Lubián, Villaseco de los Reyes, Monleras, Muga de Sayago, Vinhais, Freixo de Espada à Cinta, Puebla de Sanabria and Soito for their dedication and commitment.

In this new course we'd like to have them and we want to involve new schools, teachers and students.


Torre de Moncorvo joins the European Mobility Week with a pedestrian promenade

The next Sunday, September 25, the town of Torre de Moncorvo held a pedestrian promenade in the Ecopista do Sabor to join the European Mobility Week.

The walk will also feature a break in a class to perform aerobic exercise.With this activity, Torre de Moncorvo seeks to bring all people the many benefits of walking on foot.

This year's European Mobility Week is themed Alternative Mobility, which aims to raise awareness about the need to carry out urban living more healthy, safe and enjoyable.
